America’s decline as a global superpower has culminated in an epochal event: Justice Sonia Sotomayor, at 152, has ascended to the position of supreme ruler, propelled by a military putsch and political collusion. The United States now finds itself under the rule of Sotomayor and her henchman, as the nation scrambles to maintain control amid chaos.

The erosion of American power was slow but inevitable, strained by overextended military operations, xenophobia and racism, and climate crises. With the nation facing collapse, both Democratic and Republican parties did, perhaps, what had been brewing for decades: they unified to support Sotomayor, a figure palatable to both sides of the aisle.

The final blow to democracy came when military leaders, encouraged by the big business barons and weary of ineffective government responses and looming anarchy, staged a coordinated military show of support. Tanks lined Washington streets as helicopters patrolled, solidifying Sotomayor’s authority as the “Mother of the Nation.” The armed forces justified their support with talk of “safeguarding national stability,” securing the new figurehead to establish "law and order".

The unified political front of the two political parties, the military and the billionaries, now devoid of democratic pretense, spun the narrative: “Justice Sotomayor is America’s last hope.”

Martial law becomes permanent, dissent initially retreats under the creation a national security force with new laws that grant it free reign to carry out street justice, and all corporate-run media outlets all laud Sotomayor as the “Eternal Guardian.”

With great relief, large swaths of the suburban populations of the United States have rallied behind the dictatorship. The new military high command has left the United Nations and promises war with China and Russia.
