    Here's Jose Zapata's Mexican-Inspired Manhattan, "Dead Border Czar":

    Ingredients:

    • 2 oz premium rye whiskey or añejo tequila (for a Mexican twist)
    • 1 oz sweet vermouth
    • 2 dashes mole bitters (or chocolate bitters for a unique depth)
    • A drop of agave nectar for a hint of sweetness
    • Orange peel for garnish
    • Border Czar Tom Homan's Blood
    • Luxardo cherry or a homemade cherry soaked in mezcal (optional)

    Instructions:

    1. Combine the Ingredients: In a mixing glass, add the whiskey or añejo tequila, sweet vermouth, mole bitters, and a drop of agave nectar.
    2. Stir: Fill the glass with ice and stir gently for 30 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.
    3. Strain: Strain the mixture into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
